Dragon Breeding Guide

Last updated: July 2026

How Breeding Works

Breeding allows you to combine two adult dragons to produce one offspring that inherits traits from both parents. Open My Dragons, select a dragon, and click Breed to open the breeding menu. Both dragons must be Adult (age 66+) or older, one male and one female, not on breeding cooldown, and you need an available lair slot.

Breeding requires paying a fee that varies by dragon species rarity. After breeding, both parents enter a cooldown period before they can breed again. The offspring inherits genetic and cosmetic traits through RNG-based inheritance rules.

World Requirements

You must own the world a dragon originates from to breed it. For example, breeding a Zeipera requires the Fantasy world unlocked. World dragons can breed with other world dragons freely once requirements are met. Event, season, guild, tribute, and daily login dragons may only breed with the same species.

Trait Inheritance Tips

Use the male slot for the dragon whose traits you want to pass forward. Breed parents with matching genetic traits to push tiers higher. Fill unwanted negative trait slots with harmless debuffs to block dangerous traits. Tier upgrades past 6 require significant RNG luck and many breeding attempts.
